What is the Business

We are a small company registered in the UK undertaking work under contract in collaboration with a number of local and international organisations.

Who Are We

Derek Cox and Adam Brett are the present Directors of the company.

Derek has worked in the renewable natural resources sector in developing countries for over 30 years. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience related to agro-processing and agri-food chain activities from farmer to consumer, including market access and development.  He has worked on projects in more than 30 countries.  Having worked at the Natural Resources Institute (NRi) for 20 years, Derek has since been running his own consultancy business focusing on enterprise development activities. This has included, inter alia, the setting up of a processing factory which is the first FLO registered 'fair trade' pineapple juice factory in the world.  For the last few years, he has been leading innovative projects on information and communications technologies (ICTs) to help improve the accessibility and use of information to support business development, particularly in Africa.

Adam is a business entrepreneur and has worked in the development of ethical and fair trade food businesses in Uganda, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Zanzibar, Guyana and Zambia since 1990. He is a Director of Tropical Wholefoods, a growing fair trade business marketing products throughout the UK; also of FM Foods Ltd, a food manufacturer importing from small fair trade suppliers in developing countries.  As a skilled and experienced computer programmer, Adam has developed a variety of practical database applications to improve business operations and information flow including, for example, manufacturing audits, product traceability schemes and farmer/supplier quality systems.
